100s kind stairs
100 kind stairs
I have a Mortensen algebra set from 1984 so we have lots of plastic 100 basic ops squares. My 5 year old was not understanding the concept of kind so we built stairs of the 100 kind. He now understands what 100 is. Before this we played with Mortensen plastic units, 10s and 100s blocks for over a year. He had felt 1, 10, 100, and 1000 pennies and counted out 100 things. I also placed ten 10 strips in a row to see how 100 can be a square or a line.
